About BitTorrent

BitTorrent – is a peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing platform and a decentralized web project. It is the first and largest file-sharing and torrent platform to embrace decentralized protocols. BitTorrent was founded by Bram Cohen in 2001 and later acquired by Tron in 2018. This acquisition led to the introduction of BitTorrent Token (BTT). BTT is a TRC-10 token that supports decentralized apps such as BitTorrent File System, BitTorrent Speed DLive, among others.

The primary goal of this token is to have a tokenized economy for bandwidth, storage usage, and networking. Through the help of the blockchain network, the BitTorrent project should be able to tokenize file sharing protocol as well as increase bandwidth availability and content delivery. The BTT utility token is tradable in Binance, OKEx, and Huobi Global, among other exchange platforms.
